In “Training Matters: A Retrospective Study of Physician Disciplinary Actions by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, 1990-2010,” authors Susie Allen, DrPH, et al examine the association between years of postgraduate training, board certification and the risk of being disciplined by the Louisiana board to assess whether training requirements for physician licensure in the state should be revised. And in “Standardized Assessment of Pharmacists’ Patient Care Competencies,” authors Zubin Austin, PhD, et al provide an overview of a continuous lifelong-learning model successfully used by Ontario pharmacists for maintenance of licensure.
